The History of Packo & Pac Cool

For more than half a century, the technology behind Packo and now PacCool has played an important role in the development of dairy cooling and hygienic stainless-steel solutions.

Established in Belgium in 1964, Packo became a pioneer in milk cooling technology, building an international reputation for quality, reliability and engineering excellence. With milk quality heavily dependent on rapid and hygienic cooling, Packo developed equipment specifically for the demanding requirements of dairy farming and became one of the world's recognised manufacturers of milk cooling systems.

Over the decades, Packo continued to develop its expertise in stainless-steel processing and hygienic technology. Its products and cooling systems became widely used throughout the dairy and food industries, with installations operating around the world.

A New Chapter – The Transition to PacCool

In 2023, following the closure of Packo Cooling, a new chapter began.

Rather than starting from scratch, PacCool was able to build upon decades of established Packo cooling knowledge, manufacturing experience and proven technology.

Today, PacCool continues this cooling heritage while developing a new generation of innovative and energy-efficient solutions for modern dairy farming, food processing and other industries.

Headquartered in Gistel, Belgium, PacCool manufactures a comprehensive range of cooling solutions including milk cooling tanks, ice water systems, pre-cooling equipment, buffer tanks, pasteurisers and heat exchange systems.

PacCool products are now supplied through an international network of refrigeration specialists, with the company operating in more than 50 countries worldwide.
