Packo Ice Water Builder (PIB)

Why do we need ice water?

Ice water as a cooling medium is of major importance in the food and dairy industry, as well as in process engineering, bakery and confectionery industry, catering, air conditioning etc. An ice builder in useful where food products or equipment need to be cooled down quickly.

How does it work?

The Packo ice builder enables storage of a large ice supply and guarantees a large heat exchanging capacity. The ice builder is filled with water (of drinking quality). Accurate electrical control activates the cooling system until all copper evaporation tubes show an equal layer of ice with ice cold water around. The moment ice water is used as cooling medium; a pump transports it to the cooling unit and back to the ice builder. When the heated water is returned or new water is added, it melts down the ice. In order to obtain efficient and constant melting, the return-flow water is distributed through a pipe system over the evaporator. The water in the ice builder is mixed by means of an air pump system. A control box ensures simple operation of the equipment.
