Blood Storage Tanks
Refrigeration/heating, storage and keeping cool/warm, mixing, agitating, keeping in suspension, etc. are basic necessities in the processing of liquid foodstuffs. The Packo stainless steel tanks range from 500 to 30,000 ltr and more, from single to double jacket, from atmospheric to pressure tanks, with or without insulation. They are available as standard models or customised and possibly integrated with other equipment in a processing unit.

Cooling tank for consumption blood
Blood reserved from abattoirs can be stored in tanks to be reused in food or non-food applications. For sanitary and environmental reasons, the collected blood has to be kept cool. It can be pumped directly from the refrigerated reservoir into a tanker for transport to the processing company.
Blood for food applications must be refrigerated and kept cool at ~ 4 °C to maintain its quality. Packo's blood cooling tanks are horizontal, atmospheric, insulated vessels in stainless steel AISI 304 with cooling unit and one or more special agitators.
Storage tank for destruction blood
Blood for non-food applications must be refrigerated and kept cool at +/-10°C for environmental reasons. Packo offers the complete installation with air pressure actuated blood pump and piping towards the AISI 304 stainless steel cooling tank. These blood cooling tanks are vertical, atmospheric, insulated vessels with conical top and bottom. Special features are the cooling unit and the non-clogging agitator.
